Design lead for RBC’s foresight research project, shaping visual storytelling and user interviews to explore future banking scenarios and strategic insights for executive decision-making.

Overview

In today’s rapidly changing landscape, organizations must look further ahead, exploring, stress-testing, and pursuing strategic alternatives faster and with greater focus than ever before. Technology is a major force accelerating these changes, reshaping how we live and work. At the same time, regulatory constraints and competing priorities can limit a bank’s ability to fully realize transformative opportunities.

Challenge

As Canada’s largest financial institution, with 150+ years of history and nearly 90,000 employees serving over 17 million clients worldwide, RBC faces the challenge of anticipating and navigating rapid change. This project aimed to (1) explore how the bank can anticipate shifts and envision alternative future contexts, and (2) systematically investigate opportunities for growth by applying new ways of thinking to the possibilities these changes create.
